How To Make Frozen Kefir For Dogs?

Making Kefir is simple and it does not require any special equipment. You can make Kefir using fresh milk or powdered milk. To make Kefir, you will need:


  • Milk (1 quart)
  • Yogurt starter (1 packet) or 1/4 cup of Kefir grains (optional)
  • Stainless steel pot or glass jar (for heating the milk) – a wide mouth jar is best so you can easily scoop out the Kefir at the end of the process. A thermometer will also come in handy if you are using a glass jar. I also recommend that you use stainless steel pot if possible instead of a glass jar.
  • A clean towel or a piece of cheesecloth to cover the jar.
  • A small spoon or large wooden chopstick to stir the milk with (a metal spoon will react with the Kefir and you do not want that).

  2. If you are using a glass jar, keep the temperature at 160 F (71 C) with an oven mitt or a towel. Do not let the temperature go over 170F (77C).
